Electrical Designer (Sr.)

Duties: Under direct supervision, performs layout and design work from the basic data supplied. Applies advanced level techniques in computer design and standard design applications. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined. Design and layout electrical systems including grounding, lighting, cable tray, communications, electric heat tracing, cathodic protection, and cable schedules using AutoCad and Microstation. Familiar with material take-off and using electronic scanning of drawings. Calculating voltage drop, cable ampacity and conduit/cable tray fill.
Mandatory Criteria: Skills are typically acquired through a minimum of 7 years related experience for Petrochemical facilities or an undergraduate degree and 5 years.

Mandatory Criteria: 5 -15 years of progressive experience in rotating machinery selection and application is required. Additional experience with installation and commissioning is a plus. Working knowledge of current API standards for rotating equipment, especially centrifugal pumps, centrifugal compressors, and auxiliary systems. Working knowledge of API standards for steam and gas turbines is a plus. Oral and written communication skills in English language Computer proficiency required in MSWindows and related MS office productivity software
