Since the corporation's
inception, BEI's first priority is safety. BEI Corporation is pleased to announce
the fact that we have never had an OSHA recordable accident and no lost time
due to an incident. BEI Corporation employs a full time Safety Director who
promotes safety awareness through regularly held safety meetings, lectures,
videos, hands-on demonstrations, and multimedia computer programs covering such
OSHA mandated topics as General Safety, Hazardous Materials, and Lock, Tag
& Try. Some courses are even presented in Spanish.
Nominated
for the 15th Annual Houston Business Roundtable 2001 Safety Excellence Award
for contractors who have achieved an outstanding record of on-the-job
safety promotion.
Member
of the local safety councils who subscribe to the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC). Employees must
successfully complete a course which qualifies as an OSHA mandated orientation of general safety rules,
regulations, practices, and principles associated with the construction
and contract maintenance/services industry, as well as, reinforming and updating the experienced employee.
Employees
attend site-specific training courses that cover information specific to
the job, or plant site. The purpose of this training is to inform the new
employee, and experienced personnel, of the hazards, general safety rules,
regulations, practices, and principles needed to ensure a safe and
productive workplace.
Zero
tolerance drug and alcohol free abuse workplace in compliance with the
industry standards of the Oil & Gas Production Consortium (OGPC)
Policy. The OGPC is a standardized contractor substance abuse policy that
is independently audited to ensure compliance with pre-employment testing,
reasonable suspicion/cause, random, post accident/incident, return to duty and follow up.
Participating
member of National
Compliance Management Services (NCMS), which is a third-party Health and Safety
auditing firm committed to insuring that contractors safety plans are held
to the highest standards. The Health & Safety auditing procedures
have been developed by an oil & gas operator committee. This committee
of oil & gas company representatives has joined together with NCMS to
provide a standardized process for the oil & gas industry. The
procedures are reviewed by the committee on an annual basis.
